This workbook provides you with information to guide expectations around the action learning project chosen for your action learning challenge and the formation of your action learning group (‘set’), as well some suggested guidelines to get you started.
Some projects will be new and specifically established for this program, but some participants may already have work-based projects in progress that can be used as the basis for action learning. Useful tools for planning and managing projects have been included that you can use if specific project management tools and techniques are not available or required within your organisation.
The action learning project is an integral component of the Building Leadership Capital Program as you will gain most from the learning events when you have the opportunity to immediately apply new learning and approaches. Through reflecting on aspects of the project, you will learn more about yourself and the concepts and processes you are applying in the project. It will also allow you to work with others in a potentially different way from your current work.
